E-Arrival Card: Millions of tourists visit India every year. However, the arrival process at airports is often time-consuming due to multiple procedural requirements. Starting October 1, this is set to change. In an effort to streamline the entry process and enhance the travel experience, India will introduce a digital arrival card for all foreign nationals entering the country. Whether visiting for tourism, business, work, or education, travelers will now be required to submit this digital arrival card, jagran.com reported.

How To Apply For E-Arrival Cards?

To obtain the digital card (e-Arrival Card), foreign nationals will need to enter their passport number, nationality, reason for travel to India, place of stay in India, and mobile number. No other documents will be required. The digital card will not be mandatory for Indian citizens or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI).

At present, when foreigners arrive in India, they must go to the immigration office at the airport and fill out an arrival form. This process can often take a long time. In such cases, the e-Arrival Card allows this process to be completed digitally.

The Home Ministry under Amit Shah, plans to use technology to make it easier for foreigners to enter India. The Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveler Program (FTI-TTP) will be implemented at several airports across the country, which will be accessible to OCI cardholders.
