A social media account by the name of Shubham Lonkar Arzoo Bishnoi has claimed responsibility for the shooting at the residence of the Bollywood director Rohit Shetty, the ‘Shetty Tower’ on Saturday night. The post, which went viral on social media, claimed that Shubham Lonkar, Arzoo Bishnoi, Hari Boxer and Harman Shandu carried out the firing.
Following the post, the local police tracked down and detained all four people. According to the preliminary investigation, all four accused were linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, which was accused of assassinating Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

Who Is Shubham Lonkar?
A resident of Pune, Shubham Lonkar, is a gangster associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He has been accused of several high-profile criminal cases in the past. Lonkar was earlier accused of murdering former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique in October 2024.
The police had found out that Lonkar was brainwashed by the Bishnoi Gang into believing that killing Siddique was a ‘patriotic act’. Currently absconding, Lonkar had claimed responsibility for the attack on Siddique.
Police had also arrested Lonkar earlier in January 2024 in a case related to the supply of arms. Authorities found out communication links between him and the Bishnoi Gang. During the police interrogation, Lonkar stated that he wanted to join the Army, but he failed the recruitment test in Jaisalmer in 2018-19. In Jaisalmer, he met a person called Bajra, who introduced him to the Bishnoi gang.
Upon joining the Bishnoi gang, Lonkar received arms training in Nepal and Azerbaijan. He subsequently returned to Pune to run a dairy business with his brother and reportedly brainwashed youngsters into becoming shooters when instructed.
He was also interrogated in connection with a firing incident outside Bollywood star Salman Khan’s residence in April 2024. However, he was released on that occasion due to a lack of evidence.
