The election for the BJP national president was supposed to be completed by February 2025, but due to elections in states like Haryana, it got delayed. Party sources, cited by IANS, said that the process to elect the BJP president could begin anytime after April 20. In the next two to three days, the names of about half a dozen state presidents are likely to be announced.

The BJP has finalised state presidents for 15 states while the party is set to unveil new chiefs in at least six more states by the end of this week. According to party sources, the meeting held last Wednesday discussed the names of state presidents for Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh.

JP Nadda has been serving as the BJP president since January 2020. However, the search for his successor is now in full swing. According to the BJP's constitution, the term of the national president is limited to three years. But Nadda had been granted extensions.

Besides, the BJP is likely to send several faces from the organisation into the government, meaning that some organisational leaders could become ministers. At the same time, some current ministers might be removed from the cabinet and brought into the organisation.
