A recent video circulating on social media has left Bangalore residents puzzled as thick white foam covered the city’s streets following unexpected rainfall. The video, shared by an Instagram user, shows a snowfall-like scene, sparking curiosity and a flood of reactions online.

What’s Causing the Foam?

The mysterious foam is believed to be caused by soapnut tree flowers. According to users commenting on the video, these flowers release a soap-like substance when they mix with rainwater, creating the foamy appearance.

One user explained, “It’s due to the soapnut tree. During the first rains, these flowers create foam when they mix with water. It can be risky for two-wheelers as the roads become slippery, but it’s always fun to see.”

Another user echoed the explanation, stating, “These trees are found across Bangalore, and their flowers react with water to produce foam.”

The foam reportedly appeared in the NIMHANS Dairy Circle area, as mentioned by a commenter identifying the location.

Social Media Reacts with Humour

While some tried to explain the phenomenon, others responded with hilarious theories. Users joked that the foam was caused by someone spilling detergent or even dosa batter on the road.
