Bollywood actress and recently elected Lok Sabha MP from Mandi Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a CISF official at Chandigarh Airport. The incident took place during the security check when Kangana Ranaut was entering the airport to board a flight to Delhi. The CISF official, identified as Kulwinder Kaur, said that she slapped Kangana Ranaut for her comments on farmers who were protesting against three farm laws introduced by the Centre in 2020.     

The CISF official was enraged over Kangana Ranaut’s comments that the farmers who were protesting on the borders of Delhi in 2020-21 were paid Rs 100 each to agitate against the Narendra Modi-led NDA government in the Centre. The official said her mother was one of the farmers who were protesting against the government’s decision to pass three farm laws.

"She gave a statement that the farmers are sitting there for Rs 100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she gave this statement," the CISF official Kulwinder Kaur said as quoted by news agency ANI.

 
Kangana Ranaut also posted a video on X detailing the incident, while highlighting that she is fine. She also claimed that the woman CISF official hit her in the face as she was angry over her comments on farm laws. The newly elected Lok Sabha MP also questioned the law and order situation in Punjab and Chandigarh.

"I am getting a lot of phone calls, from the media as well as my well-wishers. First of all, I am safe, I am perfectly fine. The incident that happened today at Chandigarh airport was during the security check. As soon as I came out after the security check, the lady in the second cabin, a CISF security staff came from the side, hit me in my face and started abusing me. When I asked her why she did so, she said that she supports farmers' protests. I am safe but I am concerned about the terrorism and extremism that is increasing in Punjab...," the BJP leader said in a post on X.

A senior CISF officer said the woman constable was suspended and a local police station registered a complaint against her for slapping the BJP leader at the Chandigarh airport. Meanwhile, an investigation is underway.
