Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara on Monday visited the house of a 42-year-old Belagavi woman, who was paraded naked and tied to a pole after her son eloped with a woman. Parameshwara, while talking to the media, said he visited the hospital and victim’s residence and seven miscreants have been arrested so far in the case. He also said the victim’s son and the girl he eloped with are being traced.

"I have visited the victim's residence and the hospital. Seven accused have already been arrested and action will be taken according to the law. We are also tracking the victim's son and the girl he ran away with," news agency ANI quoted the Karnataka Home Minister as saying.
In a deplorable incident, a woman was beaten and paraded naked in Vantamuri in Karnataka's Belagavi after her son, Dundappa Nayak (24), eloped with his lover Priyanka (18). As per reports, the girl’s family was against their love affair and wanted to get their girl married to someone else.
To dodge the proposed wedding, Priyanka decided to flee with Nayak. Following the incident, the distraught family of the girl barged into Nayak’s house and broke the tiles of her roof. She was later dragged out of her house and paraded naked in the village. She was later tied to an electric pole and beaten. She was later tied to an electric pole and beaten.

The police arrived after receiving the information and the woman was rescued.
