CJP Jantar Mantar Protest: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke on Saturday announced that he would not leave Jantar Mantar until the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, resigns. The US-return student appealed to the Delhi Police to extend permission to let the protest continue, which was declined by the authority. Despite the police declaring the protest illegal, the youth continued to protest there.

The CJP said the police cut the power to the street lights and locked the washroom. However, later it was updated that light was restored and water was made available at the protesting site.  

"Delhi Police is trying to declare a peaceful protest illegal. Since when is peace illegal @DelhiPolice? We will not leave until we get justice for those who have lost their lives to Dharmendra Pradhan’s incompetence!," the CJP said in a post.

Abhijeet Dipke Urge People To Reach Jantar Mantar 

"Delhi, it's time to show up! We appeal to all students, parents, and all concerned citizens to gather at Jantar Mantar at 6 PM today and raise one clear demand: Dharmendra Pradhan must resign," another post read.

Dipke, while addressing a large number of students and supporters, who came at Jantar Mantar with plates and spoons, raises slogan: 'Go Prahan go'. Dipke said, "I request the authorities... since youth from all over the country is here. They want to sit here till we get justice. (I) request Delhi Police to extend our permission. The protest has been peaceful; we are just innocent students who want to sit here."

The CJP supporters demonstrated at the second protest organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) over alleged examination irregularities, repeated paper leaks and demands for accountability from the government.

Protest With Bangging Plates And Spoons

Supporters responded to Dipke's call to bring "thali and chammach" (plates and spoons), using them as symbols of protest and banging them during the demonstration. Chants of "go Dharmendra go" echoed at the venue, as protesters renewed their demand for accountability over issues related to examination management.

Dipke arrived at the protest venue to huge cheers from the crowd and said they want to resolve the issues faced by the students.

A young public policy professional, who requested anonymity, said it is important to show up. "Nobody knows exactly where this is going. The movement started on social media rather than in organised rooms. It was organic and refreshing, and that is why people connected with it," he added.
Echoing this sentiment, many participants admitted uncertainty about the future direction of the movement. Yet, they said, they felt compelled to join because some form of collective mobilisation had become necessary.
