TOP INDIAN wrestlers have been protesting against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and its president Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, whom the wrestlers accused of sexual harassment and mismanagement of athletes. This is the second time when they are protesting, demanding a probe into the allegations against Brij.
While the last time, the ace wrestlers kept the matter away from politics, this time they have asked all the interested political parties to be a part of their protest.
Speaking about the same, Bajrang Punia said, "...This time, all parties are welcome to join our protest whether it is BJP, Congress, AAP or any other party.....we're not affiliated with any party."
Vinesh Phogat too said that they have learned from their past mistakes and so they are willing to welcome anyone who is coming out in their support. "We didn't want to politicise the issue last time, so we refused to allow politicians to participate in the protest. Last time, there were no politicians, but still politics happened. This time, we have learned from our past mistakes and are welcoming everyone who is coming out in our support. support," she said.
Meanwhile, several political parties and famous personalities have already extended their support to the wrestlers. Let's take a look:
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP):
AAP senior leader and national spokesperson, Reena Gupta, met the wrestlers at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday and assured that they have got the party's support. She also addressed a press conference on Thursday and said, "Today the players who brought proud to India are sitting on protest. On winning a medal in the Olympics, PM Modi calls him home and takes a selfie. But when wrestling association president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan is accused of sexually abusing 1000 women. Then why is the PM not listening to them?"
Congress:
Several politicians, including former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and 'khap' leaders on Tuesday met with the protesting wrestlers and extended their support to them. Party leaders including Hooda, Udit Raj, another Congress leader, and CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat, who was stopped from joining the protest in January, were welcomed by the wrestlers, a day after they had sought support from all quarters.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also extended her support and tweeted, "The victories of women players are bigger than the rest. She is sitting on the road next to the Parliament of the country with tears in her eyes. No one is listening to their complaint against the exploitation that has been going on for a long time." She shared a long Twitter post supporting the protesters.

Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) And Bharat Kisan Union (BKU) :
RLP party leader Hanuman Beniwal also met the protestors at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday and extended his support.
Meanwhile, the Bharat Kisan Union (BKU) representative also joined the wrestlers’ stir. A few kids, including one from Bhopal, offered their piggy bank, containing their savings, to the wrestlers.
