Yamuna Floods: The water level of the Yamuna River is continuously decreasing in the Delhi-NCR, providing major relief to the residents. However, the officials stated that the administration is still cautious, as the water level is still above the danger mark of 205.33 meters. They further stated that the water level is likely to further decrease on Sunday, adding that it is likely to be below the danger mark in the next few days. While the warning mark for the national capital is 204.50 meters, evacuation of people starts at 206 meters. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that the region is not likely to witness rainfall for the next two to three days.

While the water level has decreased in the residential areas, the locals are still dealing with a lot of issues in several regions of the city. More than 20 thousand people are still living in the relief camps and are dealing with a lack of several services properly, including cleanliness, drinking water, food, medicine, and toilets. The residents are also prone to several dangerous diseases, including dengue and cholera, due to the accumulation of water for several days.

The health department of Delhi has advised the residents of these areas to follow the guidelines and maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid any inconveniences. The residents were also asked to immediately switch off the main switch and maintain a distance from electric transformers, electric poles, and other equipment for safety.

The weather department on Saturday clarified that the water level will increase in the upcoming days if the hilly regions receive excessive rain. The officials stated that the regulator of the drains falling into the river was closed when the water level of Yamuna reached above 206 meters, leading to a flood-like situation in Bela Road, Haqiqat Nagar, and Jahangir Puri.
