The central government is introducing new schemes to provide technical training and skill development to the tribal youth of Jharkhand. A new scheme is set to be launched on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas (Tribal Pride Day) to provide training in the artificial intelligence (AI), multimedia and manufacturing sectors.

The central government's Ministry of Tribal Affairs has planned to train 250 young people from the state in the first batch, with a long-term goal of training 10,000 young people. For this first batch, an agreement has been made with educational institutions in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. The scheme will be implemented in Jharkhand with the support of the state's Tribal Welfare Ministry.

Suraj Lohra, a trainee researcher in biochemical engineering, has described this training as important for livelihood.

Employment Generation Opportunities

Employment opportunities will be created within the state for the trainees who receive this digital training. Key opportunities include:

AI Demand: There is significant potential for employment in artificial intelligence, given its growing demand in the banking, education, and transport sectors.

Placement Plan: The central government has also formulated a plan for the placement of trained youth in companies that manufacture mobile phones and gadgets.

Self-Employment: Youth who complete the training will also be provided with assistance from banks to pursue self-employment.
