A two-day training camp on terrorism-related investigation and trial techniques is underway at the Research and Training School (ITS) in Hotwar, Ranchi, where 56 state officers are receiving specialised instruction from the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The participants include three trainee IPS officers, 13 trainee state police service officers, 31 DSPs, four police inspectors, and five sub-inspectors. The training, which began on Monday, focuses extensively on the provisions and implementation of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Officials present at the first session included IG (Training) A Vijayalakshmi, SP ITS Ajay Kumar Sinha, and NIA Ranchi SP Vaibhav Saxena. According to authorities, the primary goal of the program is to equip Jharkhand Police officers with the skills required to investigate and prosecute terrorism-related cases effectively.
In related news, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) dominated the Regional Police Duty Meet-2025, held from 28-30 August at the CID headquarters, Raja Rani Kothi, Doranda, Ranchi. Both the winner and runner-up awards went to CID participants.

Sub-Inspector Nishant Kumar was declared the individual champion, while Sub-Inspector Kiran Pandit was the runner-up. The selected participants will now compete in the State Police Duty Meet. DIG Chandan Jha distributed certificates, medals, and trophies during the closing ceremony, attended by senior officers, including SP CID Pujya Prakash, ASP Deepak Kumar, DSP Naval Prasad Kishore, and other members of the board of examiners.
