An 18-year-old woman was allegedly raped by seven people in the district after being deliberately trapped by her cousin, police said on Wednesday. The victim filed a complaint at the Tamar police station on Tuesday, prompting an immediate investigation.
Praveen Kumar Modi, the officer in charge of the Tamar police station, stated that the incident occurred on September 30, according to the complaint filed by the victim.
In her statement, the woman alleged that her cousin had called her to the Dussehra fair at Mardan Mor. The sequence of events, as detailed in the complaint, is as follows:
At the fair, two men arrived, and one of them raped her.
They then took her to Sona Tungri Rugdi, where two other individuals raped her.
From there, she was taken to Bundu, where she was raped by three more people.
After Bundu, she was transported to Ranchi, where another person raped her.
The assailants later abandoned her back at Mardan Mor in the Tamar area.

The police officer confirmed that a FIR has been registered against seven people. Four of the accused have been identified, while three remain unknown. "Raids are being conducted at several locations to arrest the perpetrators," Officer Modi said.
He added that the victim's medical examination is scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday.
