Vande Bharat Update: Ranchi is set to receive its fourth Vande Bharat Express Train, and for the first time, it will feature sleeper class coaches. According to South Eastern Railway’s Deputy Chief Transport Manager, K.S.K. Banerjee, a proposal has been sent to the Railway Ministry to run the Vande Bharat Express Sleeper train between Hatia and Puri.
The proposal also includes a tentative timetable for the new Vande Bharat Sleeper train between Hatia and Puri, which will be finalised upon approval of the proposal, Live Hindustan reported.
Timetable Of Hatia-Puri Vande Bharat Sleeper Train
As per the reports, the proposed Vande Bharat Sleeper train between Hatia and Puri will leave Hatia at 8:00 PM and is expected to arrive in Puri at 7:30 AM the next day. In its return journey, the train will leave Puri at 11:15 AM and reach Hatia at 10:45 the next day.
The train will depart from Hatia every Sunday and from Puri on every Monday. The exact date of commencement of operations will be announced soon.
Currently, there are three Vande Bharat Express trains with Chair Coaches operating in Ranchi. These include:
- Howrah–Ranchi–Howrah Vande Bharat Express
- Patna–Ranchi–Patna Vande Bharat Express
- Ranchi–Varanasi–Ranchi Vande Bharat Express
The upcoming Vande Bharat Express train with sleeper coaches will be the first of its kind for the Ranchi Railway Division.
In addition to this, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the Indian Railways is going to launch India’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper train. Speaking at an event in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar earlier this month, Vaishnaw said, “Vande Sleeper is coming very soon – in September.” However, the exact date of launch has not been announced yet. The Vande Bharat Train is designed to run at a speed of 180 kmph, aiming to revolutionise the travel experience for passengers.
