Monsoon Skincare Problems: With the commencement of monsoons in various parts of the country, people have been enjoying the much-needed respite from the heat of the temperature drop. As heavenly as monsoons sound, they may not be a boon to your skin. Monsoons bring with them excessive humidity and moisture that can disrupt the skin’s barrier, increase sebum production and cause numerous skincare woes.

Although it brings joy and freshness to the air, the high ambient humidity and sweating can present a set of skin problems. Here are some major and common skincare problems that you might experience during monsoon season.

Monsoon Skincare Problems

Itchy Skin

Skin itching is one of the most common skin problems during monsoon. The humid weather followed by rain tends to increase moisture in the air which can cause your skin to feel sticky and itchy. But itchy skin in the monsoon can be treated easily by taking a bath or applying talcum powder or antibacterial dusting powder on your body parts.

Acne & Pimples

Humid season is the biggest enemy of acne-prone skin. Humidity makes your skin more prone to sweating and attracts dust particles to your face, which can lead to acne and pimples. But worry not, you can take care of your acne-prone skin in monsoon by using a good cleanser to control sebum production and manage pimples.

Many women also experience open pores in the rainy season. As the humidity increases moisture and stickiness on the skin, it invites blackheads, open pores and whiteheads. To prevent this, you can try to exfoliate or scrub your face once a week to cleanse your face and nourish it with good hydration.

Dry Lips

Another common skin problem experienced in the monsoon is dry lips. To treat dry lips, you can start using a lip scrub on alternate days followed by a sleeping mask every night. This will provide your lips and skin with much-needed hydration and rejuvenation.

Sweating And Body Odour

Almost all of us experience excessive sweating and body odour during the monsoon season. After the downpour, the weather becomes humid, which leads to sweating and body odour. To prevent this, you can opt for regular showers and apply body mists and deodorants to feel fresh, smell good and prevent skin problems.
