DIY Herbal Hair Oils For Hair Growth: Hair fall has become a common lifestyle concern, with several commercial hair products offering promising results. However, most of the products fall flat and do not promote hair growth and do not even provide nourishment to the hair. Women desire stronger, thicker and longer hair and nature has powerful remedies tucked inside herbs and oils. Herbal oils are rich in nutrients that strengthen the roots, stimulate growth and nourish the scalp. Besides, homemade herbal oils are chemical-free, affordable and provide an effective solution to the hair fall problem.
DIY herbal hair oil recipes can be made at home with ingredients including amla, curry leaves, hibiscus and others. Each recipe of herbal hair oil targets the specific hair concern while boosting overall scalp health and promoting thicker, longer strands. These herbal oils not only rejuvenate damaged hair but also offer therapeutic benefits such as stress relief and improved blood circulation to the scalp. Here are five DIY herbal oil recipes that promote hair growth.
Homemade Herbal Oil Recipes For Hair Growth
Amla And Coconut Oil
Also known as Indian gooseberry, amla is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants that boost collagen production and strengthen hair follicles. To make this oil, heat one cup of coconut oil with two tablespoons of dried amla powder or fresh amla pieces until it darkens. Cool and strain before storing. Massage the oil into the scalp two to three times a week. Regular use of amla oil reduces hair fall, delays premature greying and adds a beautiful shine to dull hair.
Curry Leaves And Castor Oil
Curry leaves are rich in beta-carotene and proteins that prevent thinning of hair. Castor oil, on the other hand, boosts hair growth. Mix two tablespoons of castor oil with three tablespoons of coconut oil and a handful of fresh curry leaves. Heat them together until the leaves turn crisp. Cool, strain and store. Use it as a hot oil treatment once a week for thicker, stronger and longer hair.
Hibiscus And Fenugreek Oil
Hibiscus promotes hair growth and prevents split ends, while fenugreek (methi) fights dandruff and strengthens roots. Make this DIY herbal oil by combining half cup of coconut oil, five fresh hibiscus flowers and one tablespoon fenugreek seeds. Heat gently for 10 minutes and then let it cool and strain. Apply twice a week. This hair oil deeply conditions the hair, encourages growth and restores natural softness, perfect for frizzy or damaged locks.

This herbal oil clears scalp buildup, strengthens hair roots and promotes healthy growth.
Bhringraj And Sesame Oil
Bhringraj, known as the ‘king of herbs,’ is for hair. It is a proven remedy for promoting hair growth and preventing hair fall. Combine two tablespoons of bhringraj powder with a half cup of sesame oil. Heat on low flame for five to seven minutes and then cool and strain.
