The monsoon has already arrived in various parts of the country and people are experiencing relief from the scorching heat. Interestingly, there are certain plants which when kept in the house or at the workplace, can repel the pests and give an aromatic and pleasant home.

1. Basil

It is a tender plant used for cuisines worldwide. This plant offers a sweet aroma which keeps the flies away. Basil naturally repels asparagus beetle, carrot fly, tomato hornworm, mosquitoes, flies, and whiteflies. The basil plant releases natural oils that generate an earthly aroma, which detracts outdoor insects, flies and pests.

2. Mint

Mint is another beneficial insect-repellent plant that you can keep in your house and at your workplace during monsoon weather. 5. Marigolds

Marigolds will not only add beauty to your home but are also effective in repelling pests. French and American marigolds possess strong spicy aromas along with yellow and orange blooms, which help keep the flies and bugs away.
