Healthy Cooking Methods: Eating healthy foods is the major factor that contributes to maintaining the overall health and well-being of an individual. Healthy and hygienic habits while preparing food is also a major contributor to our health. Healthy eating is not all about what ingredients you use, but also how you choose to prepare your food. From cleaning, and washing to boiling, there are several methods that we follow while preparing a wholesome and healthy meal. It is important to switch to healthy cooking mediums to avoid devoiding foods of their nutrition and enjoy a healthy meal. Here are some common healthy cooking techniques that you should include in your regime for healthy eating.

Healthy Cooking Methods

1. Steaming

Steaming is an incredibly healthy cooking hack that is super easy and does not make your food nutrient-deficit. It is a common cooking method that uses hot water steam to cook the food and helps in maintaining the nutrient profile of the foods.

2. Stir-Frying

Stir-frying is a cooking technique in which the food or ingredients are fired in a minimum amount of oil while occasionally stirring or tossing. To stir fry your food, you first need to cook the proteins and the vegetables separately and combine them when they are completely cooked. After that, choose one vegetable per stir fry, and add liquids when all your ingredients are almost cooked.

3. Roasting

Roasting is an incredibly easy cooking method that uses indirect or diffused heat to cook the food. Although it is a time-consuming cooking process, roasting is a dry-heat cooking method in which hot air surrounds the food and cooks it properly at a temperature of at least 300 °F (or 150 °C).

4. Poaching

Poaching is another cooking hack that involves heating and cooking food by submerging it in liquids such as water, milk, wine or stock. It is a moist cooking method in which food is prepared at minimum heat while leaving it in water or any other liquids. It is similar to simmering and boiling and is known as a moist heat cooking technique.

5. Grilling

Often used, grilling is a dry-cooking method where the food is cooked on metal grates that are placed over a heat source. The food is prepared in a grilling method by the heat and smoke emitted by the heat sources placed underneath the metal grates.
