Foods To Reduce Alzheimer’s Risk: Known as one of the most common types of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease is a brain disorder that usually gets worse with time. It causes a decline in memory, thinking, learning and organising skills over time. Certain genes, family history, abnormal protein deposits in the brain, immune system problems and other factors may put you at a greater risk of Alzheimer's. It usually affects people above the age of 65.
Certain medications and therapies may help in treating this disease but one can take certain precautions to prevent this brain disorder. Consuming certain healthy foods is known to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

Foods To Reduce Alzheimer’s Risk
1. Protein-Rich Foods
Include foods rich in protein to reduce the risk of brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s. A healthy diet rich in protein accompanied by regular exercise can potentially lower the risk. Foods rich in protein content include eggs, pistachios, cereals, peas, quinoa, lentils etc.

2. Green Leafy Vegetables
Consumption of green leafy vegetables daily may slow down cognitive decline as one age. The abundance of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, protein, fibre, iron, zinc and others in green leafy vegetables reduces the risk of developing dementia.
3. Nuts And Berries

According to WebMD, nuts are ideal snacks as they are linked to better brain health. Blueberries and strawberries, in particular, help keep your brain working at its best and may slow symptoms linked to Alzheimer's.
4. Whole Grains
Whole grains are a great choice for Alzheimer’s due to their nutritional value. They provide the body with great quantities of vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants that control cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure levels. They are also rich in vitamin B which reduces inflammation of the brain and may prevent Alzheimer’s.

5. Wine
Wine consumed in moderation can also be effective in reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s. According to WebMD, wine has been shown to improve brain health and help protect against Alzheimer's in several studies. But the key is moderation. Typically, that's one glass a day for women and two for men. More than that can have bad effects on brain health and may make you more likely to get dementia.
