Warning Signs Of Alzheimer’s: The occasion of World Alzheimer’s Day is observed on September 21 annually to raise awareness about this brain disorder and improve the lives of those affected by this disease. The theme for World Alzheimer’s Day 2023 is "Never Too Early Never Too Late” which focuses on the importance of early detection, diagnosis and prevention of this neurological disease.

What Is Alzheimer’s?

According to Mayo Clinic, it is a brain disorder that gets worse over time. It's characterised by changes in the brain that lead to deposits of certain proteins. Alzheimer's disease causes the brain to shrink and brain cells to eventually die. Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia, a gradual decline in memory, thinking, behaviour and social skills. These changes affect a person's ability to function.
