Ways To Treat Dry Hands: Our hands begin to get dry, chapped and painful when winter's chill grips them. The dry, warm air within and the chilly air outside dehydrate the skin, making it feel tight, scratchy and at times painful. As the hands' skin is thinner and more delicate, it is more susceptible to these severe conditions. Dry hands in the winter can be easily treated with several remedies. Here are five home remedies that can effectively treat dry hands in winter and give you soft and supple skin.
Home Remedies For Dry Hands
Coconut Oil
Rich in antioxidants, vitamin E and medium-chain fatty acids, coconut oil deeply hydrates and aids in the restoration of the skin's moisture barrier. Additionally, it contains inherent antifungal and antibacterial properties that might help prevent infections on cracked skin.
Honey & Olive Oil
Combine one spoonful of honey and two teaspoons of olive oil to make a quick and efficient hand treatment. Apply this mixture to your hands gently, focusing especially on any dry areas.
Aloe Vera

Applying fresh aloe vera gel straight on your hands can yield the best effects. Before rinsing it off, gently massage it into the skin and allow it to absorb. For an even more nourishing hand treatment, aloe vera can also be mixed with coconut or olive oil.
Shea Butter
Rich in vitamins A and E, vital fatty acids and other nutrients, shea butter helps to seal in moisture and form a barrier that protects the skin. It is particularly effective during the winter months when the skin tends to lose moisture.
Oatmeal Soak
In a bowl of warm water, grind a handful of oats into a fine powder to make an oatmeal soak. For 10-15 minutes, soak your hands in water and gently massage your skin to moisturise and exfoliate it. To seal in the hydration after soaking, massage your hands dry with shea butter or coconut oil.
