Pineapples, one of the favourite tropical fruits worldwide are considered a nutritionally dense superfood with many health benefits. Nutritionally dense, pineapple has significant amounts of vitamin C, manganese, antioxidants, fibre and digestive enzymes. The rich array of nutrients in pineapple provides a tasty way to boost immunity, support heart health aid digestion and reduce inflammation. Who Should Never Eat Pineapple
People With Allergies
The bromelain found in pineapples is great for digestion and inflammation but can also cause allergic reactions. Symptoms can include abdominal cramps, hives and skin rashes in someone who may have pre-existing allergies. Caution should be used when consuming pineapples for those with previous allergic conditions including asthma and food allergies.
Diabetics
The naturally high sugar content of pineapples, primarily fructose can raise blood glucose levels. Diabetic people who consume excess pineapple may experience heightened blood sugar spikes or worse weight gain and obesity.

People With High Blood Pressure
Over-consumption of pineapple may affect blood pressure regulation and may even cause facial flushing, headaches and dizziness. The potassium content and bromelain can also interact with medications that could potentially risk a hypertensive crisis. Those with hypertension should partake in pineapple in moderation or else discuss it with their physician.

People With Dental Issues
The sourness and presence of enzymes such as bromelain can irritate the oral cavity which can be uncomfortable for those with gum inflammation and mouth sores or sensitive teeth. Eating them can leave your gums and mouth lining painfully irritated and the tongue and throat may feel numb, compounding the problem.

People With Stomach Issues
The organic acids in pineapple can lead to irritation in the stomach and intestine, potentially worsening gastritis, ulcers and acid reflux. If you have any of these conditions, you may suffer from nausea and stomach discomfort, heartburn and further inflammation in the sensitive lining of the stomach itself.
