Consuming too much sugar can also affect your skin health and may make your skin age faster. The excess sugar that you intake attaches to a protein in your bloodstream, which further creates harmful molecules known as AGEs. They damage the skin's collagen and make it lose its elasticity.

4. Brain Health

The WebMD states that eating excess sugar gives your brain a huge surge of a feel-good chemical called dopamine.
