1. Be Mindful Of Sodium Intake

Excessive intake of sodium is one of the significant contributors to hypertension. When there is excess salt present in your body, the heart works more to pump the blood in a given time, leading to increased blood pressure levels. Therefore, always be mindful of your sodium intake regularly and if you are a high blood pressure patient, try to decrease as much sodium as you can from your diet.

2. Increase Fibre Intake

Include foods rich in fibre such as lentils, whole grains, fruits and green leafy vegetables in your diet. According to Mayo Clinic, high-fibre foods have incredible heart-health benefits, such as reducing blood pressure and inflammation. It also helps control blood sugar levels. In people with diabetes, fibre particularly soluble fibre, can slow the absorption of sugar and help improve blood sugar levels.

3. Include Herbs In Your Diet
