Things To Never Put In Microwaves: Microwaves are kitchen gadgets that make our lives extremely easy. It is a marvellous modern technology that helps to cut down cooking time and prepares dishes with minimal time. It is a time-saving kitchen device that makes cooking the simplest task. But there are also some limitations when it comes to using microwaves. From using them with caution to avoiding putting certain things in the microwave, one needs to be extremely vigilant while using this kitchen appliance. It is said that there are numerous things that should not be put in the microwave, here is the list of those things.

Things To Never Put In Microwaves
1. Aluminium Foil
Certain pieces of metal such as aluminium foil should never be put in the microwave. Aluminium foils are a very thin form of metal, which when exposed to microwave temperature, reflects the energy instead of absorbing it. This can lead to a spark within the appliance or even catch fire.

2. Single-Use Plastic
Microwaving single-use plastics can certainly accelerate the release of harmful chemicals such as BPA and phthalates, which are bad for our health. These chemicals easily melt inside the microwaves and release BPA in the food which is associated with a variety of health issues.
3. Water
If you are using a microwave to boil water, make sure to use microwave-safe cups or containers when boiling the water. Do not use plastics or cups unless they are rated safe for microwave use. Sometimes, when boiling water in a microwave, it can superheat the water which when splattered can cause severe burns.
4. Eggs
You should always avoid cooking eggs in the microwave as it can be dangerous and messy. The heating from the microwave can create extensive amounts of steam inside the eggs, which can cause them to explode.

Microwaving certain foods can cause nutrient loss. When you cook broccoli in the microwave, it may destroy its nutrients and make it nutrient-deficient. However, when steamed or boiled without water, it may retain certain nutrients.

6. Frozen Protein
When you microwave frozen proteins, it may lead to uneven cooking and the growth of harmful bacteria. If you want to cook frozen protein in the microwave, you prefer to thaw your protein in the microwave and then cook it in an oven.
7. Grapes
If you are preparing oatmeal, do not top it with grapes as they get overheated, and their sugary plump quickly turns into molten plasma. Also, they could explode in the microwave causing severe injuries.
8. Leftover Potatoes
If you prefer reheating left-over potatoes in your microwave, make sure to take some protective steps. When potatoes are cooked and not stored in the refrigerator for longer hours, spores of bacteria may multiply over them and cooking them in the microwave may not kill the bacteria and may lead to an upset stomach.
