Holi 2025: This year, let’s try to make your Holi celebration healthier with this delicious almond-based recipe. To celebrate Holi in a more nutritious way, Ritika Samaddar, Regional Head – Dietetics at Max Healthcare, New Delhi, shared a wholesome Almond and White Chocolate Gujiya recipe. This recipe features almonds as the key ingredient—packed with 15 essential nutrients, including protein, fiber, healthy fats, vitamin B2, vitamin E, magnesium, and phosphorus.
How To Make Almond White Chocolate Gujiya?
Ingredients | Quantity |
Dough All-purpose flour | 2 cups |
Clarified butter (ghee) | ¼ cup |
Water | ½ cup |
For Filling White chocolate | 1 cup |
Desiccated coconut | ¼ cup |
Green cardamom powder | A pinch |
Almonds | ½ cup |
Jaggery | 1 tbsp |
Let’s Look At The Recipe:
- Rub the flour and ghee together, and bind them with water to form a soft dough. Let it rest for ½ hour.
- In a bowl, mix the chocolate flakes, coconut, and almonds together. Add jaggery to the mixture.
- Make small balls of the dough and roll them out into ½ cm thick rotis.
- Place the filling in the center. Do not overstuff, as this may cause the gujiyas to burst while frying.
- Apply water on the edges and seal them. The shape should resemble a half-moon. Use a cutter to make a design around the edges or pinch and twist them for a traditional look.
- Heat oil or ghee in a deep pan and fry the gujiyas until golden brown.
