One of India's most beloved festivals is Chhath Puja, particularly for the people of Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. This colourful festival, which spans four days and is full of ingrained customs and a sense of community, commemorates the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya.
Although the spiritual observances carried out by rivers or lakes are the central feature of Chhath Puja, the festival also highlights a variety of traditional dishes that are prepared and relished by families and friends. Delicacies For Chhath Puja
Thekua
Made with coconut, jaggery and whole wheat flour, this deep-fried delight known as Thekua is praised for its rich flavour and crunchy texture. Thekua represents wealth and is frequently made in big quantities to be donated to the Sun God during ceremonies.
Kharna Ke Chawal
On the second day of Chhath Puja, Kharna, a delicious delicacy known as Kharna Ke Chawal or sweet rice is made. This dish is typically served following evening prayers and signifies the end of the first day of fasting.
