Health experts suggest that adults eat 2 to 3 cups of vegetables and one and a half to 2 cups of fruit every day. But only 1 in 10 Americans meets these recommendations, according to WebMD. In such situations, it is always a better idea to prepare yourself a bowl of salad made with various vegetables and stay away from junk foods.
There are several ways in which you can prepare a healthy and lip-smacking salad for yourself. One such healthy salad recipe includes crab salad. According to WebMD, crab is packed with protein, which is important for building and maintaining muscle. It also contains high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B12, and selenium, which play vital roles in improving general health while helping prevent a variety of chronic conditions.
Recipe For Crab Salad
Ingredients: One-third cup whole-milk plain strained yoghourt, one-fourth cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill, plus more for garnish, 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh parsley, one teaspoon grated lemon zest, plus more for garnish, 3 tablespoons lemon juice, one teaspoon old bay seasoning, 1 pound lump crabmeat, one thinly chopped small red bell pepper, 2 medium celery stalks, ½ cup very thinly sliced red onion and 6 cups chopped romaine hearts.
How To Make
Whisk the ingredients of yoghurt, mayonnaise, dill, parsley, lemon zest, lemon juice and old bay in a medium bowl until combined. Fold in crab, bell pepper, celery and onion. Serve the crab salad over lettuce, garnish with additional lemon zest and dill, if desired.
