Dust is ubiquitous; it is in our homes, offices and even the air we inhale. For certain individuals, it can provoke allergic reactions to the respiratory system. Dust allergy is commonly attributable to dust mites, minute creatures that love to inhabit bedding, upholstery and carpets. Identifying early signs and taking appropriate actions can significantly enhance your lifestyle. In a conversation with The Daily Jagran, Kuldeep Kumar Grover, Critical Care and Pulmonology Head – CK Birla Hospital, Gurugram explained ways to identify dust allergy and how to fix it.

Ways To Identify Dust Allergy

1. Repeated Sneezing

In case you keep sneezing, perhaps in the morning or while dusting, it may be because of dust particles irritating your nasal passageways. Sneezing is how your body attempts to throw out the allergens.

2. Stuffy or Runny Nasal Discharge

Dust mites tend to irritate nasal tissues, causing congestion or a runny nose all the time. This symptom usually tends to intensify when you are in poorly ventilated small spaces.

3. Watery, Itchy Eyes

Dust allergens may cause redness, itching and copious tearing of the eyes. It is a frequent symptom and usually occurs in conjunction with nasal allergies.
