This year, the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti will be celebrated on April 06 across the country. According to Drik Panchang, the Purnima Tithi will begin at 09:19 AM on April 05 and end at 10:04 AM on April 06.

On the auspicious day of Hanuman Jayanti, devotees worship Lord Hanuman to seek his blessings. As per Drik Panchang, devotees observe Hanuman Jayanti during different times of the year according to their regional beliefs and the type of calendar being followed. Hanuman Jayanti during Chaitra Purnima is the most popular one in North Indian states.
It is believed that Hanuman was born at Sunrise. On Hanuman Jayanti day temples start spiritual discourses at dawn before Sunrise and stop after Sunrise, as per Drik Panchang. Lord Hanuman is also known as Anjaneya because he was an ardent devotee of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita.

As per the legends, Panchamukhi Hanuman is one of the popular forms of Lord Hanuman. Lord Hanuman assumed Panchamukhi form to kill the demon Mahiravana. Panchamukhi, which means having five faces, represents Lord Hanuman with five faces, with Shri Varaha facing north, Shri Narasimha facing south, Shri Garuda facing west and Sri Hayagriva facing the sky and Lord Hanuman himself facing the east.
