  • 1 cup of whole wheat flour (atta)

  • 1 cup of sugar

Easy Kadha Prasad Recipe: How To Make Gurudwara-Style Kadha Prasad This Gurpurab

Roast The Flour: Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan or Kadai over medium heat. Once the ghee is hot, add the whole wheat flour. Stir continuously to ensure the flour does not burn. Roast the flour until it turns a golden brown, which should take about 5 to 7 minutes.

Prepare The Syrup: While the flour is roasting, combine the sugar and water in another pan. Heat the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved and a simple sugar syrup is created. You can add a pinch of cardamom powder at this stage for added aroma.

Combine The Ingredients: Once the flour is roasted, carefully pour the hot sugar syrup into the kadai. Be cautious, as the mixture may bubble up. Stir continuously to avoid lumps, ensuring that the flour absorbs the syrup evenly.

Cook Until Thickened: Continue to stir the mixture over low heat until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan. This process usually takes around 5 to 10 minutes. You will know it's ready when the Kada Prasad has a smooth consistency and pulls away from the pan.

Serve Warm: Once cooked, remove the Kada Prasad from the heat and transfer it to a serving dish. It is best enjoyed warm, and you can garnish it with chopped nuts if desired.
