Oily Skincare Routine: Unique challenges arise with oily skin in the rainy season where primarily humidity, excess moisture and a tendency to sweat all add to the skin's oiliness, leading to clogged pores, acne and in more acne-prone cases, deeper, painful nodules. Using an adaptive skin care routine becomes necessary to help with this situation. We may have to change our skin care regimens to meet the changing conditions of the weather and our skin's needs. This task can include products that control oil production and help in tackling greasy skin. Here, we've compiled a simple skincare routine that you can follow to keep your skin oil-free during the monsoon.
Oily Skincare Routine During Monsoon
Cleanse Three Times
Washing your face should be like washing your hands. You should wash your face at least three times a day with a foam cleanser that will bubble up and remove extra sebum. It will feel refreshing to remove extra sebum, especially during the humid periods of the year, like in the monsoon.
Regularly Exfoliate
Mild exfoliation is extremely important when you're trying to maintain smooth, oil-free skin. Picking a face scrub that matches your skin type and using your scrub periodically is important but not too frequently. Exfoliation will help slough off dead skin, debris that can clog pores and reduce oil production to leave your skin fresh, nourished and balanced.

Apply A Light Moisturiser
Oily skin still needs moisture for a healthy feel. Using a light lotion as a moisturiser will keep oil in the skin from getting dry, flaky or cracked. If you skip moisturiser altogether, the body's natural lipid barrier can be compromised and the skin will signal the sebaceous glands to produce additional oil, worsening oiliness.

Use Sunscreen
Find a sunscreen that fits your skin type and needs and make applying it part of your daily routine. Applying a good amount often, ideally every three to four hours provides the best protection. Always carry a sunscreen and be sure to reapply and protect yourself and skin from harmful UV rays.
