Poshan Pakhwada 2025: The Poshan Abhiyaan, launched in 2018 focuses on improving the nutritional status of vulnerable populations including adolescent girls, pregnant women, lactating mothers and children under six years old. Leveraging technology, convergence and community involvement, the program aims to reduce under-nutrition, anaemia and low birth weight. The initiative takes a holistic approach to addressing malnutrition, prioritising early childhood nutrition, malnutrition management and obesity prevention.
The 7th edition of Poshan Pakhwada, scheduled from April 8 to April 22, 2025, is an annual nutrition awareness drive that serves as a call to action. This campaign seeks to engage communities and promote healthy practices, ultimately contributing to a healthier and more nourished population.

Poshan Pakhwada 2025: Date And Theme
The 7th edition of Poshan Pakhwada 2025 will run from April 8 to 22, 2025, focusing on maternal and infant nutrition, digital accessibility and combating childhood obesity. With outcome-based interventions, the campaign aims to enhance nutritional well-being and promote healthy practices. This initiative will improve the health and nutrition of vulnerable populations, particularly mothers and children and contribute to a healthier and more nourished society through targeted efforts.
What Is Malnutrition?
Malnutrition occurs when a person's diet lacks, exceeds or is imbalanced in essential nutrients. It encompasses two conditions: undernutrition where the body's needs are unmet, affecting growth, physical well-being and mood and the other is overnutrition which leads to obesity and diet-related diseases like diabetes and heart disease. Malnutrition occurs majorly among children, causing issues like stunting, wasting and being underweight with severe repercussions on overall health and bodily processes.
