New Delhi | Jagran Lifestyle Desk: Raksha Bandhan is a traditional Hindu festival that is celebrated in the month of Shraavana -- generally in August -- to commemorate the bond between a brother and sister. Also known as Rakhi or Rakri, sisters tie a rakhi (sacred thread) on the wrist of their brothers and pray for their prosperity, health and well-being. In return, their brothers promise that they protect them for their entire life.

The auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan is also related to Bhai Duj, Bhai Tika and Sama Chakeva. This year, Raksha Bandhan would be celebrated on August 22 (Sunday). However, celebrations of Rakhi have once again been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, you need not worry as you can still celebrate Raksha Bandhan by sending these beautiful wishes, messages and quotes to your siblings:

Tode Se Bhi Na Tute Jo Aesa Ye Man-Bandhan Hai
Ias Bandhan Ko Sari Duniya Kahati Raksha Bandhan Hai
Tum Bhi Ias Kacche Dhage Ka Maan Jara-Sa Rakh Lena
Kam Se Kam Rakhi Ke Din Bahna Ka Rasta Tak Lena

“Brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet”
