Sabyasachi At Met Gala 2024: The popular Indian designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee walked the Met Gala 2024 red carpet and became the first Indian designer ever to do so. Known for his ability to infuse traditional and customary ensembles and create timeless and opulent designs, Sabyasachi’s designs exude timeless beauty and elegance.
At the Met Gala 2024, Sabyasachi made history by becoming the first designer to walk the Met Gala carpet. Keeping the theme in mind, Sabyasachi styled an embroidered cotton duster coat from the Sabyasachi Resort 2024 collection for the red carpet. He completed his entire look with stunning tourmalines, pearls, emeralds, and diamonds from Sabyasachi High Jewellery. The designer completed his look by pairing tinted sunglasses and brown loafers footwear.

The Sabyasachi Official Instagram handle said, “As the galloping horde of mechanization, modernization, and uniformity march ever closer; it is a craft, that embodiment of human touch, tradition and diversity that will safeguard culture from the passage of time.”
Talking about his designs, Sabyasachi designed Alia Bhatt’s Met Gala outfit. Alia Bhatt looked beautiful in a custom embroidered saree styled by Anaita Shroff. The actress resonated with the year’s theme and captivated the audience with her breathtaking look. The saree adorned by Alia Bhatt featured a 23-foot-long trail that featured embroidered floral patterns crafted with glass beadwork and semi-precious stones.

The Met Gala 2024 took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. With the theme ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’ and the dress code as ‘The Garden of Time’, the Met Gala red carpet became a star-studded event. The glamorous event’s sartorial theme was inspired by a J.G. Ballard story. The red carpet was graced by several celebrities including Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, Anna Wintour, Ashley Graham, Mindy Kaling, Natasha Poonawalla, Mona Patel, and Simone Ashley among many others.
