How Many Stairs Are Safe For Pregnant Women?
There is no universally prescribed limit on the number of flights of stairs that are safe for pregnant women. The key is moderation and individual assessment. A general guideline is to avoid excessive stair climbing, especially in the later stages of pregnancy. Most doctors advise limiting stair climbing to a manageable number of flights, typically one or two at a time, to prevent undue fatigue or risk of falling.
In high-risk pregnancies, or if there are complications such as preeclampsia, preterm labour risks, or balance issues, it is crucial to consult your gynaecologist. They may recommend limiting or avoiding stair climbing altogether.
In conclusion, while stair climbing is generally safe for pregnant women, it should be done with caution, and any concerns should be discussed.
