Should You Drink Coffee On Empty Stomach?

According to Dt. Gupta, drinking coffee on an empty stomach can have mixed effects. On the other hand, some studies suggest that moderate coffee consumption may have metabolic benefits but that too not on an empty stomach.

However, relying on coffee for breakfast or after any meals regularly may lead to nutrient deficiencies as caffeine in interferes with the absorption of many nutrients especially iron from the food. It's crucial to maintain a diverse diet and not solely depend on coffee, which can contribute to dehydration ( coffee is diuretic in nature, so if enough water and electrolytes are not consumed). Overall, occasional consumption on an empty stomach is generally fine, but one should not be adapted to the coffee on an empty stomach regularly.

Benefits Of Coffee

One of the top benefits of consuming coffee is that it increases energy levels in the body and enhances its functioning. The presence of caffeine in this beverage is known for its ability to fight fatigue and boost energy. Coffee is also linked to lowering the risk of type 2 diabetes in individuals.
