Stretching At Work: Did you know that incorporating neck stretches into your office chair is a simple and practical way to relieve the strain from sitting for extended periods? Long durations of sitting can lead to neck discomfort and stiffness, primarily due to poor posture and repetitive strain. Performing simple neck stretches can help alleviate these issues and enhance overall comfort.

These stretches improve posture, release tension, and increase flexibility, reducing the likelihood of developing chronic neck pain. To help you relieve your discomfort, we have compiled a list of quick stretches you can perform while seated at your desk.

Chin Tucks:

Sit upright and gently pull your chin down and backward, holding the position for 10 seconds. Release and repeat.

Side Tilt:

Turn your head to your right shoulder, bringing your ear towards it, and hold for 5 to 10 seconds. Repeat on the left side up to ten times.

Towel Pull:

Tilt your head back and place a rolled-up towel around your neck. Gently pull the towel while raising and lowering your head. Repeat ten times.

Shoulder Roll:

Raise your shoulders and make six forward circles, then six backward circles.

Neck Retraction:

Pull your head and chin backward without tilting your head. Hold for 3 to 5 seconds, return to the starting position, and repeat 10 to 15 times.
