Consume Less Salt & Sugar

Consuming excess amounts of salt and sugar can hamper your health in great ways. It can cause spikes in your blood pressure and blood sugar levels which further elevates your risk of heart diseases. You should reduce your salt intake to 5g per day, which is equivalent to about one tablespoon.

Engaging in regular physical activity is extremely important for maintaining good health of the body. The amount of physical exercise depends on your age group but adults aged 18-64 years should do at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity within the week.

Eliminating or reducing your intake of harmful fats can help in preventing unhealthy weight gain and NCDs. The WHO recommends reducing saturated fats to less than 10% of total energy intake; reducing trans-fats to less than 1% of total energy intake; and replacing both saturated fats and trans-fats with unsaturated fats.
