Shami Plant

The Shami (Prosopis) plant is considered sacred to both Lord Shiva and Shani Dev (the god of karma and discipline). Datura is a thorny fruit and is among Lord Shiva’s most favoured offerings. During the month of Sawan, devotees offer Datura flowers and fruits on the Shivling to please Him.
