Hacks For Mosquito-Free Home: Every year on August 20, the global event of World Mosquito Day is observed to serve as an important reminder of the harm that mosquitoes cause to people's health. This day, which was created to honour the finding that mosquitoes and malaria are linked, attempts to spread knowledge about diseases spread by mosquitoes and encourage the use of efficient pest control methods.
These mosquitoes can spread diseases like the Zika virus, dengue and malaria, impacting our overall health and well-being. Fortunately, maintaining a comfortable living space and keeping mosquitoes out of your home can be done with minimal effort. Here are five quick tips to help you keep mosquitoes away and live in a bite-free house.
Hacks For Mosquito-Free Home
Eliminate Standing Water
Since standing water attracts mosquitoes, it's imperative to get rid of any sources of sitting water near your house. You may drastically lower the chance that mosquitoes will use your house as a breeding habitat by eliminating certain areas for them to lay eggs.
Mosquito-Repellent Plants
Because of their fragrant oils, some plants naturally keep mosquitoes away. To prevent mosquitoes from breeding, include lavender, basil and mint plants in your indoor or outdoor landscaping.
Repair Screens

Make sure the screens on the windows and doors are not damaged or broken. If you don't currently have screens on your chimney and vents, think about getting some. To seal the spaces around windows and doors, use weather stripping. Look for any gaps in the foundation or walls where mosquitoes could get in.
Use Essential Oils
For both indoor and outdoor use, combine essential oils with water to make a natural spray or use them in diffusers. When utilising essential oils, always remember to abide by safety precautions, especially when near children and pets.
Maintain Clean Environment
Mosquitoes prefer unclean, chaotic settings to live in. To deter them from coming in, keep your house tidy and well-organised. In addition to reducing mosquito hiding places, a clean home improves general hygiene and health.
