Dhurandhar Movie:  Dhurandhar 2 has taken the box office by storm, and its worldwide collection is soaring, after crossing the 900 crore mark. Ranveer Singh’s intense emotional depth and commanding screen presence have moved people, and Aditya Dhar’s masterful storytelling is also being highly praised. The director's meticulous attention to detail is clearly visible in his choice of vehicles for his characters. However, the flick is not completely blunder-free if we look at it through an automotive perspective. From a mismatched timeline to characters driving vehicles that can never exist in Pakistan, at Jagran, we have taken a deeper dive and highlighted the top 5 of such 'Dhurandhar Blunders'.

Major Iqbal’s Land Rover Defender

Arjun Rampal has played the character of Major Iqbal from ISI. A ruthless ISI agent with massive political influence can be seen using a Land Rover Defender in the movie. The timeline of Dhurandhar is set between 2002 and 2014, while the timeline of Dhurandhar 2 is set between 2014 and 2024. Many might believe that the vehicle is being used wrongfully, as it was shown in the trailer of the first movie. However, look closely, and you will be surprised to understand that Dhurandhar did not have any scenes that feature Major Iqbal with the Defender. Iqbal and the Defender can be seen only in Dhurandhar 2. The Land Rover Defender is also a head-turner, and it is highly unlikely that an ISI will use a car that attracts a lot of attention.

Jameel Jamali’s Mercedes S-Class

A clever-minded Pakistani politician, played by Rakesh Bedi, who can go to any lengths to save his position in Pakistani politics, uses a Mercedes-Benz S-Class in the movie. However, the S-class model used by Jameel Jamali was introduced in 2021, and unlike Major Iqbal’s Defender, it was also used by the character in Dhurandhar (first part). The luxury sedan by Mercedes-Benz doesn’t match the timeline of the movie and seems like a choice made in haste.

Bajaj Pulsar Driven By Rehman’s Sidekick

In the last sequence of Dhurandhar, Hamza (Ranveer Singh) is trying to get away in the car that Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna) is sitting in. In the same scene, one of Rehman Dakait’s close associates can be seen standing in front of the car with a Bajaj Pulsar, likely a 150cc or 180cc model. Notably, the Bajaj Pulsar is not sold in Pakistan officially. It is worth mentioning that the Pulsar is available in the Pakistani market through private dealers and rare finds. However, the model used by the character is a 2007-2008 model, while a sidekick using a 2003 model would have made more sense.

Pakistan Police With Tata Xenon

Remember SP Chaudhary Aslam (Sanjay Dutt) and his Lyari Task Force? The vehicles painted as Pakistan’s Police were Tata Xenon pickup trucks. The Tata Xenon was not sold in Pakistan and was not used by the Pakistan police. The Pakistani police use the Toyota Hilux pickup trucks, along with the Toyota Corolla, for patrolling. Notably, the Tata Xenon is available in the second-hand market in Pakistan, but as informed earlier, the Pakistani police never used or uses it.

Rehman Dakait & Toyota Corolla

The last sequence of Dhurandhar features Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna) being driven by Hamza in a Toyota Corolla. The Toyota Corolla used in the sequence is a 2007-08 model, and it matches the timeline and other aspects of the story. However, the sequence is not completely blunder-free, as the car used here was not there in any other sequence or part of Rehman Dakait’s convoy. A notorious criminal with well-established links in Pakistani politics sits in a car that was never there in the movie before. Well, this doesn’t make sense to me, and in my opinion, Rehman Dakait would have also noticed this and felt unsettled. But it was the last sequence of the movie, so I think he let it go unnoticed, and got killed by Hamza in return.
