Mercedes-Maybach GLS Price:  The made-in-India Mercedes-Maybach GLS has been launched in the country for Rs 2.75 crore (ex-showroom). The brand has also launched the Mercedes-Maybach GLS Celebration edition in India at Rs 4.10 crore (ex-showroom). This marks a significant milestone, as India has become the first market outside the US to start local production of the ultra-luxurious SUV.

India-Made Mercedes Maybach GLS: Reduced Price

The brand shared that the local manufacturing of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS will enable wider accessibility and faster deliveries. It is worth mentioning that the imported unit of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS was priced at Rs 3.17 crore (ex-showroom), whereas the made-in-India model costs Rs 2.75 crore (ex-showroom). This essentially means that the made-in-India ultra-luxurious SUV now costs Rs 42 lakh less than the fully imported model.

India-Made Mercedes Maybach GLS: Exterior

On the outside, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS comes with the brand’s signature dual-tone finish. It also features a huge grille with vertical chrome slats, along with fully digital LED projector headlamps and LED DRLs. It also gets forged 23-inch alloy wheels, wraparound LED taillights, faux air vents at the front with chrome Maybach logos, dual-exhaust outlets on each side of the rear bumper, and a Maybach logo on the D-pillar.

India-made Mercedes Maybach GLS: Features

The India-made Mercedes-Maybach GLS comes with a slew of advanced features. Inside the cabin, the ultra-high luxury SUV features a dual display setup with each of the screens measuring 12.3 inches. It also features a three-spoke steering wheel, central armrests for front and rear passengers, two 11.6-inch displays for rear passengers, dual wireless phone chargers, a panoramic sunroof, a 4-zone climate control system, powered sunblinds, a 29-speaker Burmester sound system, and a 9.6-litre refrigerator. The ultra-luxury SUV also provides enhanced passenger safety by offering features such as a 360-degree camera, an ADAS suite, auto parking assistance, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

India-made Mercedes Maybach GLS: Powertrain

The India-made Mercedes-Maybach GLS features the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, paired with a 48V hybrid system. The powertrain enables the ultra-luxury SUV to generate a peak power and torque output of up to 557hp and 770 Nm, respectively. The engine is paired to a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission, and it can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. However, the engine is electronically limited to a top speed of 250 km/h.
