ICC T20I Rankings Update: Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has produced a big jump in the latest ICC T20I rankings after finding form in the ongoing five-match series against New Zealand. Suryakumar has been in incredible touch and helped India seal the ongoing T20I series with a 3-0 lead on the back of a dominating performance in all departments.
Suryakumar, who is the top run-getter in the series against New Zealand, has surged five places to seventh position in the Men's T20I rankings. The Indian captain struck scores of 32, 82 not out and 57 not out to climb the table. The right-handed batter produced a match-winning effort in the previous game as India chased down the 154-run target in just 10 overs to clinch a monumental victory by 8 wickets in Guwahati. He has scored 171 runs in the series so far.

On the other hand, Abhishek Sharma extended his dominance at the top of the ICC T20I rankings. He has been an unstoppable force for India in the shortest format since making his debut a couple of years ago. The young opener has been hitting boundaries for fun against the Blackcaps. He has increased his advantage at the top to 80 rating points following a couple of half-centuries across the first two games. Abhishek's rating of 929 points is just two less than his career-high rating of 931 that he achieved during the Asia Cup last year.
He is followed by England's Phil Salt at second, whereas India's Tilak Varma stands third in the latest ICC T20I rankings. The latest update in the rankings has come out as a major boost for India ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026, which kicks off on February 7.

Talking about the bowlers, Varun Chakravarthy has maintained his grip at the top of the rankings following a trio of wickets across the first two games of that series. The Men in Blue will be looking to continue with the carnage and complete a 5-0 whitewash win, which will be a magnificent result for them ahead of the T20 World Cup and a perfect revenge for their ODI series defeat against the Blackcaps a few weeks back.
"This is the brand of cricket which we want to play, irrespective of whether we are batting first or chasing. Of course, for example, if we are 20 for 3 or 40 for 4 tomorrow, we know how to bat. But if you want to play a different brand of cricket, then I think this is the best way going forward," Suryakumar said after India won the third T20I match.
