IND vs AFG 3rd T20I: India have a comfortable 2-0 lead in the ongoing three-match T20I series against Afghanistan and will look for a clean sweep in the third and final match in Bengaluru on Wednesday. With everything in their favour, India have the best chance to make changes in their playing 11 to give match practice to their squad members. Sanju Samson is one such talent who has been knocking on the door for a spot in India's 11.
As India are set to play their final T20I before the T20 World Cup 2024, former India batter and commentator Aakash Chopra feels that the Rohit Sharma-led side should give consistent runs to wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma in the series which Samson never got in his career.
Jitesh has played both matches of the series ahead of Samson. He scored 31 in the opening encounter before falling on a duck in the next match.

The question is whether you should keep Jitesh or Sanju at No. 6. If Jitesh had cemented his place totally, if there hadn't been a question mark at all in front of Jitesh's name, that he is definitely going to the World Cup, you could have thought about Sanju. However, Jitesh is not confirmed yet," Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
The veteran cricketer further added that judging Samson on the performance of a single match would be 'incorrect' if he gets a chance to play in the third T20I.

"There is a flip side to that as well. Assuming you play Sanju, will you judge him with one match? It's incorrect. Whoever you try, give him three chances at least. This is what has happened with Sanju throughout his career," Chopra added.
Samson last featured in the three-match ODI series against South Africa and slammed a century in the last match in Paarl as India won by 78 runs. He was awarded the Player of the Match accolade for his 108-run knock in the series decider. Kerala wicketkeeper last played a T20I match for India against Ireland in August last year.
On the other hand, Jitesh has been regular in India's T20 side since getting his debut in the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. He was also part of India's playing 11 against Australia and South Africa series.
The 30-year-old has yet to get the most out of the opportunities given to him to cement his place in India's squad for this year's showpiece event in the West Indies and the USA in June.
Aakash Chopra labelled Shivam Dube as the 'find of the series' after the all-rounder slammed consecutive half-centuries and leads the run-chart in the series.
"Shivam Dube has been the find of the series so far, so he will play at No. 4 for sure. So can Tilak Varma be played here? In place of whom, because Rinku Singh gets limited opportunities, in terms of, not the games, but the amount he gets to bat. So he also needs to play," Chopra said.
The third T20I between India and Afghanistan will be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru at 7 PM IST later in the day.
