IPL 2024 Orange Cap (Updated): Rajasthan Royals batter Riyan Parag is enjoying the form of his life with back-to-back match-winning performances for the franchise in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 edition.
Riyan smashed his second half-century of the season as he played an unbeaten knock of 54* off 39 balls studded with three sixes and five fours against Mumbai Indians to snatch the IPL 2024 Orange cap from star batter Virat Kohli.

The youngster's knock steered Rajasthan Royals to a six-wicket win over Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday. With 181 runs in three matches, Riyan's run-tally clashes with Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Kohli but the former has a better high score of 84* compared to the former Indian captain's 83*.
"Nothing has changed, just that I have simplified things. Before I would think about things too much, this year the goal is simple, watch the ball, hit the ball. It's a funny thing, I have said it before, this is the exact situation I go in to bat in domestic cricket. When Jos got out, I went in to bat, this is when I usually go out to bat," Riyan said in the post-match presentation.
"For 3-4 years I haven't performed well (in the IPL.) When the performances are not coming, you get back to the drawing board. I practised really hard, I have practised these kind of scenarios. Dad likes to watch everything from home, he likes to analyse everything, but my mom is here," he added.
