Ranji Trophy 2026: The eight teams that have qualified for the quarterfinals are Jharkhand and Andhra (Group A), Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh (Group B), Bengal and Uttarakhand (Group C) and Mumbai and Jammu & Kashmir (Group D). The seventh round of the ongoing tournament has come to an end.
The quarterfinalists have been confirmed. Karnataka finished the last day of the group stage on a high.
Padikkal’s special hundred takes Karnataka across the line
Karnataka became the second team to qualify for quarters. Skipper Devdutt Padikkal’s led the team from the front as he had scored a gritty knock of 120 runs off 85 balls and helped the team chase the target of 250 against Punjab. With one session remaining, it was hard to get a result but Padikkal along with Mayank Agarwal helped the team win the match. Madhya Pradesh too qualified after defeating Maharashtra and will lock horns with Mumbai in the quarterfinal.

Defending champions Vidarbha out
The race for the quarterfinals intensified in Group A. Jharkhand, Andhra, and Vidarbha were aiming to qualify for the top two. Andhra's match against Nagaland ended in a tie, whereas Jharkhand had defeated Odisha, and Vidarbha was able to beat Uttar Pradesh. All the teams had scored 31 points. But reigning champions Vidarbha were eliminated as Jharkhand and Andhra had better NRR.
No fuss in Groups C & D
Bengal had qualified from Group C. Haryana and Uttarakhand were aiming for the second spot. Uttarakhand had beaten Assam, but Bengal defeated Haryana. Jharkhand and Mumbai have already qualified from Group D.
