PAK vs AUS 2nd Test: In a conflict of interest incident, Pakistan's state broadcaster, PTV, stopped broadcasting the ongoing Boxing Day Test match between Australia and Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground due to the featuring of a gambling sponsor.

According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, Australia took cognizance of the matter, and as a result, Pakistan will now receive an advertisement-free broadcast of the ongoing Test series in Australia.

The issue surfaced when broadcast pictures for the Pakistani market featured a gambling sponsor, prompting PTV to refrain from airing the first day of the Boxing Day Test.

In response to this, Pakistan's Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) issued a notification on Tuesday, prohibiting the broadcast of advertisements from surrogate companies promoting gambling or betting in sporting events.

As per ESPNcricinfo Pakistan broadcasters will no longer include advertisements that could violate local laws. The clean feed, without prohibited advertisements, is expected to be available to Pakistan shortly.

PTV had previously stated that they had suspended coverage in line with the government's "zero tolerance policy" for surrogate advertising. The first Test was broadcast on both PTV and private broadcasters without interruption.
