India's star batter and T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is currently out of action but has been at the top of the headlines for more than 24 hours. Surprising everyone with her recent comments, Bollywood and TV actress Khushi Mukherjee came up with a massive claim that Suryakumar used to message her.
Amid all the talks after her quote caused a massive stir, Khushi has now clarified her recent remarks, and her statement comes as a major relief for the captain, his fans, and Indian cricket supporters at large. In response to her comments, she asked, "Can't we talk as friends?"
Khushi made it clear during a telephonic interview with NDTV that there was no "romantic relationship" with Suryakumar Yadav. Mentioning that her comments were misunderstood and blown out of proportion without context, Khushi went on to claim that her Instagram account had been hacked. She also explained that her talk with Suryakumar used to be as friends, and they are no longer in touch.

While giving the Indian cricket team her best wishes for the T20 World Cup 2026, Khushi mentioned that Suryakumar had spoken to her as a friend following a defeat.
Notably, all the drama began when Khushi gave a shocking answer to a question at a recent event. She had said, "I don't want to date any cricketer. Many cricketers are after me. Suryakumar used to message me a lot. We don't talk much now. I don't even want my name linked with him. I don't like news about my link-ups."

There hasn't been any response from Suryakumar's side, who was recently seen playing for India and captaining the side in the five-match T20I series. While his disappointing batting form continued, India went on to win the series 3-1. Suryakumar took over the T20I captaincy last year after Rohit Sharma retired from the format following India's T20 WC 2024 title win. The right-handed batter will be leading the team in the 2026 T20 World Cup, for which India's squad was announced a few days ago.
"See, the thing is that I have been batting beautifully in the nets. I am trying everything that is in my control. When the game comes, when the runs have to come, they will definitely come. But yes, I am looking for runs," Suryakumar said at the post-match presentation after the third T20I match against South Africa.
