A 24-year-old youth was shot dead late Friday night at "Mr King Lounge and Cafe" in the Maujpur area, under the jurisdiction of the Welcome police station in North-East Delhi. Following the incident, an alleged confession video surfaced on social media, in which the suspect claims personal enmity as the motive. The police are investigating the case from all angles.
According to police reports, a call regarding firing at the cafe was received around 10:28 pm. Upon arrival, the police team found a young man critically injured. He was identified as 24-year-old Faizan alias Fajji, son of Sehroz Alam and a resident of JMC Welcome. He was immediately rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
A forensic team was summoned to the scene to collect evidence. Preliminary reports suggest that Faizan was hit by three bullets, one in the head and two in the chest. Knife marks were also found on his hands. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.
Murder Claimed On Instagram
In a sensational twist, a video was posted from an Instagram handle named 'moinqureshiii_', where the suspect claimed responsibility for the murder due to a personal grudge. In the video, he states that Faizan had slapped him four months ago and he committed the crime to seek revenge. He further clarified that his father, family or friends had no role in the incident, nor was it related to any financial dispute.

However, the victim's brother, Salman, rejected these claims, asserting that the conflict was over an outstanding debt. According to Salman, the accused and his father had previously visited their home to fight and assault them over the loan repayment and incident that was reportedly lodged with the police. Salman has demanded the arrest of both the father and the son.
Police Probe Viral Confession
DCP Ashish Mishra stated that multiple teams have been formed to identify and arrest the suspects. The social media video is being analysed to verify its authenticity and source. Police added that further action will be taken based on factual evidence once the investigation is complete.

Given the tension in the area, police remain on high alert. CCTV footage from the cafe and surrounding buildings is being scrutinised. The murder and the subsequent viral video have caused a sensation in the locality.
