Delhi: CISF Head Constable Detained For Shooting Minor During Wedding In MS Park; Pistol Seized

A minor boy was shot in the head and died during celebratory firing while dancing at a wedding ceremony in Delhi's MS Park area. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Despite a ban on such firing, these incidents continue to occur, turning the wedding's joy into mourning and leaving the family in shock.

A celebratory wedding ceremony turned tragic on Saturday night in the MS Park area when a minor was shot and killed during the festivities. The incident occurred at a community hall located near the local police station.

The Incident

According to preliminary information, the wedding procession had arrived from Sultanpuri, Delhi. During the groom's procession, while guests were dancing, a shot was fired. The bullet struck a passing minor in the head. The victim, identified as Sahil, died as a result of the gunshot.

Investigation And Suspect

The police immediately launched an investigation to determine who fired the shot. A Head Constable from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), who was attending the wedding as a guest, has been detained. Authorities have recovered a pistol from his possession.

Motive

Police suspect that the incident stemmed from a dispute. It is alleged that the minor was snatching money during the wedding celebrations, which led to a confrontation with the Head Constable. In a fit of anger, the accused allegedly shot the boy.

Victim Details

There are conflicting reports regarding the age of the deceased based on the initial information. While the victim was identified as 14-year-old Sahil, other details provided state that the deceased was 17 years old.
